2nd Grade Worksheets & Activities
Welcome to our 2nd grade worksheets! Second graders are at the end of the beginning. In second grade, learners ask, answer, and retell information about the stories they encounter. They continue to recognize more and more words and learn to pronounce those words based on the skills they’ve honed during phonics instruction.
Learners write more than they did the previous year and expand on their ideas. The nature of their writing can also vary depending on the task. Sometimes they’ll write short responses or sometimes they’ll document simple observations based on what they see.
A goal for these learners is to recognize organization, like how a story begins and ends, and use that information in their own writing. Like years before, these learners also report and expand orally.
