Kindergarten Sight Word Stories
This set includes different kindergarten appropriate reading passages, and includes most of the Kindergarten sight words from the Dolch word list. Each story excerpt also includes reading comprehension questions, along with a list of 12 sight words and accompanying printable flash cards. These activities offer a great opportunity to improve your student's reading fluency and instant recognition of important sight words. To improve fluency, read aloud with your student and pause on the various sight words and ask them to say the word. Please note that the word list for each reading passage also includes slightly more difficult words from grades 1 through 3.
Check out all of our individual Kindergarten reading passages.
Reading Sets are groups of passages around a topic or theme that make up a printable comprehension lesson. You can view the individual passages below and print the whole lesson with the "Create My PDF" button. You may also create your own custom reading sets!
