Highlight the Action Verbs

This one-page downloadable worksheet on action words is a great way to assess student skills. Students will review twelve sentences that contain action verbs and highlight them within each sentence as they find them. The sentences range in topic to keep students engaged. To offer more challenge, ask students to think of other verbs that can be added or swapped into each sentence. As students work, consider pausing to review every four sentences to keep everyone on track, offer wait time, and push their progress further.
