John Keats Ode Poetry Activity

John Keats is an important American poet who generated famous poems for years. In his poem, "To Autumn," students will have an opportunity to read the poem several times, seeing how he uses language and imagery to impact his audience. After that, students will return to the poem to identify specific language that create the feeling of the narrator's appreciation for the fall season. After students analyze this poem, encourage them to write their own ode poems using a graphic organizer or other single-page worksheet. This will make the task of writing unique poetry more accessible for all students. Check out all of our ode poem educational worksheets.
