Main Idea Graphic Template (Middle and High School)
As curriculum becomes more challenging, students will need to quickly identify the main idea within a variety of texts across multiple disciplines. With this one-page graphic organizer, teachers can download and print a chart that will allow readers to collect, organize, and document their ideas so that they can write a main idea based on any reading. The directions remind readers of helpful cues like looking at text features like graphics and subheadings to help them understand how small details in a text allow readers to understand the text's main idea.
