Metaphors Writing Activity (1)
It's time to use metaphors! We've created word duos and students will need to fuse them to create clever comparisons known as metaphors. Remind students that the words should not merely exist in the sentence, but have a function of comparison. In other words, those two words should somehow connect with one another. Be sure to share figurative language and metaphor examples to boost student confidence as they take on the task of writing their own metaphors. This one-page printable PDF on metaphors could be your next great ELA "do now" activity. Find more
