Sort the Action Verbs and Being Verbs
As students in elementary school learn about the different parts of speech, it is important for them to understand that there are different types of verbs. On this one-page printable worksheet, students review action verbs and state of being verbs. After reviewing the list, students categorize the words as either type of verb. Use this worksheet to reinforce skills or as a formative assessment to see how students are understanding the distinction between action verbs and state of being verbs. This would be a great tool to conclude your classroom lesson or to send home as a task to deepen student learning.
