Write a Limerick Activity
Use this organizer to have students practice writing their very own limericks according to the structure and rhyme scheme. Display their limericks in your classroom so students can see each other's products or select a special occasion that students should write their limericks for. Connecting poetry to other curriculum can be a good opportunity to inspire critical and creative thinking. For example, students can write a limerick about a specific animal during a unit about the jungle or they can write a funny limerick about a figure in history.
