Identifying Repetition Activity

Sometimes learning a new skill can be helped with some old favorites! Students will review "Mary Had a Little Lamb," a nursery rhyme, and then determine how repetition impacts the poem. The worksheet also gives them a chance to summarize what the rhyme is about, offering them an opportunity to refine their reading comprehension skills further and keep them engaged in a frequently used skill. Be sure to highlight how repetition is used in songs, poems, and other genres in order to emphasize why this technique is used by authors, songwriters, and communicators alike! Download as a supplemental resource or as a way to challenge your students. Check out all of our repetition rhyme resources for teachers and parents.
