What is Repetition Printable Activity
Before your students begin examining poetry, it is important for them to have an understanding of what repetition is. After all, they hear lines repeated in songs, and the same is true of language that's repeated in poems. This repetition serves to emphasize an idea or word that will be stuck in the reader (or listener's) mind. Read a simple eight-line poem with your students and then have them answer the two short-answer questions about which word is repeated and how that word connects to the rhythm of the poem.
